Single Band Bracelet

Our single band stretch bracelets are made of a single row of bright colorful paper beads strung together with elastic. They are easy and comfortable to wear.  Each bead is made from recycled paper which is cut into long strips and individually hand rolled. The colors you see are the colors that are in the paper. The process of creating a piece of beaded jewelry from hand-rolling the bead to assembly, takes about a week. These bracelets are made by a widowed woman named Akello and her family. Akello has 7 children and 6 grandchildren. Her work with Project Lydia gives her hope that she can keep her school aged children and grandchildren in school.
